Good news!!!

Hi all!  Good news!  I put the PAYPAL button up on the blog,  so the Whimsy!by BeckyJCarter Coloring Books can be purchased online.  You don't need a PayPal account to use the button, they will process all credit cards without your having to open a PayPal account.

Our 9th Annual Foothills Artists Studio Tour was this past week end.  It was so nice to see everyone who came out to visit all of our studios.  We enjoyed meeting new people and seeing familiar faces!  Thank you all for making it a huge success!  Next year will be our 10th Annual event!

Here is a sampling of some  of each of the 4 volumes of the coloring books.  Each book has 6 pages to color. The paper is a nice texture to hold many different kinds of dry mediums: crayons, colored pencils, pastel pencils, pastels, and gel pens. Add some pizzazz with metallic pens and markers!  Enjoy them! Happy Coloring!!

Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Hello, hello!  It's been a long time since I've posted.  I've had a busy 2015..travel to Turkey and Florida, and some health issues that have kept me from posting.  I've only dabbled at my artwork this year for the same reasons.  But, I'm up and running now!  Just in time to prepare for the 9th Annual Foothills Artists Studio Tour!!  This year the tour will be held November 21 and 22 from 10 am to 5 pm. We are a group of 10 talented and diverse artists who are busy creating and executing fabulous pieces for you all to enjoy!  So, come and enjoy the show!!
I will be posting some of my work on this blog.  You can read more about our group and see what the others are doing on our website: www.foothillsartists.net. It is in the process of being updated, but keep checking back for continuous changes.  Also, we have a Facebook page you can "like" to keep up with the most current info: 9th Annual Foothills Artists Studio Tour.

2015 brings some changes to what I'm offering.  Adult Coloring Books of my original black and white designs will be available.  These are the new rage for stress relief and relaxation!  My series of books is titled:  Whimsy! by BeckyJCarter.  I will have t shirts available printed with whatever piece of my artwork that you would like. And of course, examples of the pet portraits that I've done, many with a whimsical touch, such as the example of Sly Bud, below!
This is the cover page of Volume 1 of my series of coloring books.  Lots to color on this page, so, let's get coloring!

Psychedelic Frannie

I've been painting away, preparing for the Franklin County Arts Council's Annual Miniature Show.  Since I started painting in oils several months ago, I have been changing my style of art.  This is not something I'm trying to do....it's just happening.  This picture of Frannie is completely out of the box for me, and it's taking some getting used to, but I think she's cool.

I've been working on polymer clay jewelery, also.  Shown are some bracelets and beads that I've done in the last few days.  These items will be available at the Foothills Artists Studio Show, November 22 and 23.  More on that later!

I'll be back soon. Peace.

Happy Fred!

Wow...it's been awhile since I've posted.  I've been working on miniatures!  I've completed another portrait of Fred!  He's sooo happy! :-)
Those of you who have followed my art and blogs have noticed that I call every camel Fred.  It's  something we started on our first overseas assignment in the Foreign Service......Kuwait.  Someone named the first camel we saw, and before you know it, every camel became Fred!  Fred has brothers named Fred, cousins named Fred, uncles named Fred, and children named Fred.  So, say "hi" to Happy Fred!!

I have a couple more in the pipeline...they'll be posted in the next day or so.
Peace, Becky

Francesca

Francesca, otherwise known as Frannie is the kitty of my niece, and she loves getting into Emmie's drawers and cuddling amongst her clothes!

I've added the Foothills Artists logo on the right hand side. I'm a proud member of this group. More information to come on our Studio Tour in November. Keep checking back for previews of what I will be displaying in my studio.

From Camels to Toads!!!!

I love painting portraits, both animals and people.  Fred the Camel I've even done twice! Once in colored pencil and once in oil.  I started with my own CillaB, my English kitty, and I was hooked on painting animals!  I love giving them some personality, and they're always very colorful!  Enjoy the collection I've posted here.  I will do pets on commission from good photos.  I will soon be posting the prices.

Daisy

I finally finished this painting today! It is a painting of Daisy, the pet of a good friend.  Colored pencil is used predominantly, but also Neocolor II and oil pastels.  Such a pretty kitty!
